CCS2 medieval theatre presentation

out of all project deadlines impendingly approaching this scares me most of all am find it really difficult to try and link the information to something reportable to my fellow classmates, my fellow group members seem to be naturals at the understanding of it all. i can’t believe im saying this but I miss the lecture theatre! no that’s a lie im not of not believing what im thinking I would have preferred a colourful theatre history  lecture one where i make lots of notes and have to update paperclip so that future generations can enjoy the fact I actually learned something.

Score reading class 2

I’m loving score reading class it’s hard to get the rythm right first time but im starting to make observations,  i can usually follow the page of music the final time we do it -before rapping up the class.

today was our first SM session with John also in the morning i had a introduction to reading music score

Score reading session-

I didn’t know what to expect that might be a little hard to understand id be better to re-phrase that as “i expected many things from this session and it was a bit overwhelming in  my head”:- should i study up on music before i go into the session, would it be wise to have at least a simple understanding of what the music notes are etcetera. Turns out if i had brought that knowledge to the table it would have been useless it might have even been a hinder the experience.

In room 3 we sat around the stereo system in a semi circle listening to the finale of an opera while following the piano/vocal score, stopping at points to take note in how to interpret how fast the rhythm is, along with highlighting key parts of where to start off from incase you get lost in the music.

I really enjoyed the class, I had no problems at all i do need to practice keeping the tempo, I’ve noticed it helps to use a the bouncy leg method (patent pending).

SM Session – Propping

Session was too long to express here  i suppose the most most difficult part for me was the propping on the phone exercise I hate taking to people on the phone especially strangers, i remember being on the phone searching for my prop an 1970s desk bell from British home stores Madeline was my second half a ruse shop clerk at BHS, even though the answer to whether or not i would get the prop was yes i still struggled a bit i definitely need more practice in this area possibly need to map out a flow chart of how i would go through propping in the future.

when the day was over we had a quick production meeting about the Drama Vs Opera production: I feel it didn’t go so well but hey, just give me more motivation to make today smooth over nicely!

it was a long day, I can tell by the fact that my jokes started to lose their meaning closer to the arse end of it. didn’t help that im still recovering from a dodgy Chinese I had at the get in on Monday.

things learned:-

• bandit is Italian for snake.
• when propping research is an important factor.

things lost:-

• no more egg rice! no more egg rice! (i am the walrus cuukoo-kahchoo)

I’m a morning person, as in “I like getting up early.”, tis true that its probably weird for someone of my age to be OK with getting up early. I love it! when i was in high school I would go to bed early and do all my homework in the morning.

It may come from the older generation males in my family or it could be that that entire generation is just used  to getting up early.

top reasons for getting up early

• no distractions. (everyone is sleeping)
• you can nod off at night by watching a crappy movie.
• work quicker by reducing a deadline length.
• closes the option of pulling an all nighter. (bad for the brain)
